Opera Accompaniment

Working in opera is fun! A pianist should be a chameleon to achieve the needs of a conductor, a director, and singers. I have worked for 3 operas – Don Giovanni, Dido & Aeneas, and Three Little Pigs. Each of them let me grow significantly.

The biggest point of opera rehearsal accompaniment is following the conductor, not the singers. This is because the orchestra cannot follow singers as flexibly as one pianist. It needs training and experience.
